Right before Valentine’s Day, I had the privilege to attend the Victoria’s Secret Ultimate Girls Night In hosted by Angels Josephine Skriver and Romee Strijd. The event took place at The Peninsula Hotel, in Beverly Hills on the outdoor terrace and it was the most beautiful set-up with an electric ambiance. Upon arriving, I first saw the lounge area and had to share with you all how the event planning looked. After snapping the lounge area (see below) I went to the dessert bar and had some delicious macarons.
As my sister, Eunicia Balaj, and I began to look for the bar, we notice how many cliques there were at the event. By cliques I mean circles of girls looking in your direction and wondering the same thing you are…
“Gosh I feel out of place. She is so pretty and looks so much better than I do. I wonder how many followers she has, etc. etc. etc”
Hey, you thought it and I said it but I wanted to bring this out on the table to let you all know that we are all in this together. I do not know about you, but when attending events, they can be scary because I don’t know what is expected. Naturally, there are always cliques at nearly all events that I attend, and even though they can be intimidating I have a list that I follow and I hope it will help you when you attend your next event.
1.Always Bring A Plus One
I cannot stress this enough!! Bringing a +1 saves you so much anxiety. It also comes in handy when you get dolled up and need someone to take your photos if you know what I mean. 😉
I bring this up because many of us women, including myself, can think negatively and sadly this comes from insecurities. We either think we look “fat” or our “makeup isn’t the best”, or our “hair looks too flat”, or we just are not feeling ourselves.
Just take a DEEP BREATH and repeat after me… Everything is going to be A-L-L-L-L-R-I-G-H-T! I a’ a hottie with a fine body and I look amazing!
Everything is going to beA-L-L-L-L-R-I-G-H-T! I am a hottie with a fine body and I look amazing!
I feel like sometimes we need to hear this but more so tell it to ourselves so we can believe it because words have POWER!
3.Walk in There and Own It
Can I get an AMEN!? Ladies, there is nothing like confidence. We have all heard this phrase or should have by now. In fact, we see it all over social media. Confidence makes a woman beautiful, not her style or her makeup because she has an ugly personality, she’s not beautiful anymore.
There is no need to compare yourself to anyone. No need to feel like you are not “as pretty” because you ARE!
Now, here are some tips on confidence that my friends ask me about. They are ridiculous but I promise they work! Try these tips out and I promise you will come back and email me how it worked hehe!
- You have to tell yourself you are beautiful every morning in the mirror.
- You have to do something you love every week.
- You have to be good to yourself, either by doing something you expect someone to do for you/or buy you, etc.
