Salzburg was one of my most desired cities to visit while visiting family in Austria. The culture, chocolate and the music define Austria, not to mention the beautiful nature and architecture. Nevertheless, touring where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart grew up and how his family lived back in the 1700’s was a wonderful experience. Someone pinch me. When touring Mozart’s childhood home, I took photos of the portraits until someone told me it was not allowed. But I am so glad that I did take photos because you see them here. Alhtough Salzburg is not known as the city of love, there is a love bridge when you cross the river. People write their names on a locket and lock their love to the bridge. It is the perfect souvenir to visit after a few months or years.
On the way to Hohensalzburg Castle, we stopped at the Salzburg Cathedral and took some photos. Austria has, no doubt many beautiful cathedrals. They differentiate between every countries’ medival cathedrals. After the Cathedral, we took a lift to Hohensalzburg Castle. It overlooks the entire Salzburg and the is so high on the mountain. If you go atop, make sure to dress warm because it is so windy and chilly from the elevation.
I hope you all enjoy my postcards from Salzburg, Austria. Happy Friday! 🙂
