Oversized sweatshirts were a cool thing to wear growing up. Especially in the “hood”. I remember all the gangsters and the cholas wearing oversized hoodies with Nikes, Jordans, and Vans. That was the cool thing to do in the early 2000’s.
Fast forward to 2017, the trend is back and I cannot get enough of it. I am obsessed with this Zara oversized sweatshirt that I wore to New York Fashion Week as a dress. My inspiration came from the hip-hop queen herself- Rihanna.
On Day 4 of NYFW, my bestie, Natalie and Dylana Suarez had a couple of runway shows we had in mind to attend. However, because it was Sunday and we had so many things to see and traffic was miserable, we missed all the shows.
Luckily, we made it to my favorite party of the season- Moet x Public School. It was LIT! At the party there were rose fountains where you could refill your glass. And the bar was pouring non ending rose. The good kind too… DUH!
Natalie and I danced the entire time and we got to see Travis Scott perform. I was happy that the crowd wasn’t unbearable, like most fashion parties where people squarm around and step on your shoes just to get a glimpse on their iPhone of the rappers performing.
There were also great empanadas served by a local bakery that we were super excited about because what is a fashion party without finger foods?!
