Greetings from freezing New York Fashion Week.
I arrived in New York City on Wednesday, the 8th, to 60 degrees Fahrenheit but was in for a rude awakening the following morning. I woke up to 25 degrees and snow falling.
My chic outfits were already planned and I was not going to let the cold ruin my perfectly planned outfit for day one of New York Fashion Week. So for day one I wore a Zara outfit with a Gucci Mormont Matelasse handbag and a pair of 54mm square Gucci sunglasses.
After getting ready at my friend Dylana Suarez’s apartment, our day was busy with non-stop activities and fashion shows. We attended front row at Cinq a Sept, Tadashi Shoji, Noon by Noor, Thakoon presentation and ended the night with a yummy dinner at Death Ave.
I had many crazy eye stares throughout the city and throughout the subway. Not many people in NYC know when New York Fashion Week takes place, so people assume a woman dressing as fashionable as I did just looks like a crazy fashionista.
Since we are talking about my ‘not-so-warm-outfit’, you are probably wondering how someone wearing bare legs survives the day running around the city in twenty-something degree snow weather without frost bite. Surprisingly, I stayed warm- thanks to my heat-tech nylon tights and my Uniqlo Heat-Tech thermal t-shirt.
